Jubilee Prasad Rao, a PhD student in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department (MAE), finished second at LaunchR, a Rutgers student-run clean technology innovation contest and startup accelerator funded by the United States Department of Energy and PSEG. Rao was awarded $15,000 to start his own company based on turbine technology to capture tidal energy. He is the co-inventor with Prof. Diez of this patent pending technology. Jubilee has been a part of the "The Collaborative for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (CTEC)" which is a two semester sequence course offered by the Business School in conjunction with the MAE Department. This course joins engineering researchers with MBA students to bring research to the market place and into application.
