"Prof. Z. James Guo has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief for Heat Transfer Research, a journal that has been in publication for 54 years. The journal is owned by Begell House, Inc. and publishes 18 issues annually. It is officially affiliated with the American Society of Thermal and Fluid Engineers (ASTFE). Prof. Guo has been serving as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Enhanced Heat Transfer since late 2018. He is a fellow of both ASME, elected in 2011, and ASTFE, elected in 2021. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of ASTFE.

Professor Laurent Burlion, PI, was awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation for a 3-year project entitled “Collaborative Research: Designs and Theory for Interval Contractors and Reference Governors with Aerospace Applications,” in collaboration with Professor Michael Malisoff, a distinguished professor at Louisiana State University. It is co-funded by the Applied Mathematics program in the Division of Mathematical Sciences and the Energy, Power, Control, and Networks program in the Engineering Directorate.

As part of a growing collaboration with Picantinny Arsenal, Rutgers University has been awarded $4.9M for a three-year project to design and construct a new hypersonic facility to be housed on Busch Campus.  This single-PI effort is led by Assistant Professor Edward DeMauro, who will also use these resources towards enhancing data collection within the existing Emil Buehler supersonic wind tunnel.  The new hypersonic facility, termed an “expansion tube,” will be one of only a few currently at universities within the United States, and the only hypersonic facility at a public unive

President Holloway recently met with representatives from the Rutgers RPL team. The students had the opportunity to discuss the design of their rocket, along with their upcoming competition while the president signed the rocket. In attendance at this event were Professors Diez, DeMauro, and Baruh, along with Dean Cuitino.
