Professor Qingze Zou receives NSF grant to develop Nano/bio-mechanical research device

Prof. Qingze Zou received an NSF grant to develop a sensing platform to achieve rapid, broadband nanomechanical mapping of live cells ("IIBR Instrumentation: Multiscale Multiplex Nanomechanical Stimulus and Sensing of Living Cells on 3D-Cell Culture"). The project is a collaboration between Prof. Zou (PI) and Prof. Juan Dong in Waksman Institute of Microbiology of Rutgers and Prof. Nan Gao in Biological Science of Rutgers-Newark as Co-PIs. The team aims to enable mapping of time-elapsed nanomechanical evolutions of multiple cells on a three-dimensional (3D) cell culture, by integrating the sensing platform to a scanning probe microscope.
