The 3rd Thermal and Fluids Engineering Conference (TFEC) was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from March 4-7, 2018. As the President of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE), which organizes these conferences, Professor Yogesh Jaluria welcomed the participants, outlined the status and vision of the society, presented awards, and chaired sessions and Board meetings of the society. The conference had about 400 papers, 4 Plenary talks, 9 keynote talks, 6 panel discussions and 6 special talks on entrepreneurship and communication in engineering.

A computational modeling of amoeboid cell swimming was unveiled in a recent article by Professor Bagchi together with his graduate student Eric Campbell. The model shows the generation of fingerlike projections that give unilateral movement of amoeboid cells.
